Terms and conditions
These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the Asterisk app and related services (the "Service"), provided by Asterisk Health ("Asterisk", "we", "us"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. Please read them carefully.

Acceptance of these Terms
By accessing or using the Service you confirm that you accept these Terms and that you agree to comply with them. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
The Service and beta status
Asterisk is an AI health coach. The Service is currently a closed beta: it is under active development, may change, and may contain bugs or interruptions. Features may be added, changed or removed without notice.
Not medical advice
This is important. Asterisk is a wellness and coaching tool, not a medical device or a healthcare provider. Its content and AI-generated guidance are for general informational purposes only and are not medical advice, diagnosis or treatment. Never disregard professional medical advice, or delay seeking it, because of something in the Service. If you think you may have a medical emergency, contact your doctor or emergency services immediately.
Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old, and able to form a binding contract, to use the Service. You confirm this when you start using the app.
Your account
You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for all activity under your account. Provide accurate information and keep it up to date. Tell us promptly if you suspect any unauthorised use of your account.
Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the Service: do not attempt to disrupt or reverse-engineer it, do not access data that is not yours, do not use it for any unlawful purpose, and do not upload content you do not have the right to share.
AI-generated content
The Service uses AI to generate suggestions, plans and other content, and the coach can apply some changes to your plans on its own (you can undo them). AI can be wrong, incomplete or unsuitable for your situation. You are responsible for deciding whether to act on any suggestion, and for the choices you make about your health.
Your content and data
You keep ownership of the content and data you submit. You grant us the limited licence needed to store and process it in order to operate the Service, as described in our Privacy Policy. Our handling of your personal data is governed by that Privacy Policy.
Intellectual property
The Service, including its software, design and branding, belongs to Asterisk and its licensors, and is protected by intellectual-property laws. These Terms do not grant you any rights in it beyond the right to use the Service as permitted here. Recipe content is shown with credit to its source; product data from Open Food Facts is available under the Open Database License.
Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that its content will be accurate or suitable for your needs.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Asterisk will not be liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for any loss arising from your reliance on the Service or on AI-generated content. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
Termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time (Account & Security → Privacy & data). We may suspend or end your access if you breach these Terms or to protect the Service or other users.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms as the Service evolves. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date and ask you to accept the new version in the app before you continue.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Asterisk is established, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer-protection rights you have where you live.
